“The SNRS funding was crucial in launching my nursing research career. As a junior investigator, it provided the financial support I needed to explore the complex link between the gut microbiome and cancer-related symptoms. This opportunity allowed me to build the essential knowledge and skills to understand how disruptions in the microbiome can contribute to the symptom burden cancer patients face. I’m deeply grateful for the support from SNRS, which has not only helped me establish a solid foundation for my future research but also empowered me to pursue meaningful work that has the potential to improve patient outcomes.”

“As a PhD student, I am deeply honored to be selected as the recipient of the 2024 SNRS Dissertation Research Grant among many excellent applicants and am committed to using this opportunity to its fullest extent. This grant is extremely important to me to pursue my academic goals. My dissertation is to determine if and how cancer-coping self-efficacy mediates the relationship between symptom occurrence and quality of life using structural equation modeling. This research of mechanism is important because if we know whether and how self-efficacy works, it will more accurately improve the effectiveness of future interventions. Receiving this grant boosts my confidence in continuing my research. With this support, I have been better equipped with more research resources and I am ready to delve deeper into this research field and make a meaningful contribution.”
