Psychiatric/Mental Health

Psychiatric/Mental Health Research Interest Group (RIG)

WELCOME!

Welcome from Lora Beebe and Francine Jones, Co-Chairs of the Psychiatric Mental Health Research Interest Group (RIG). The purpose of our RIG is to advance knowledge and practice of psychiatric mental health nursing in the southern region of the U.S and beyond by promoting the work of psychiatric mental health nurse researchers in all career stages.

We offer networking opportunities, peer support, and inspiration to others interested in this area of work and research. We encourage all members to participate. We welcome all interested parties in our area of work--researchers, clinicians, academicians, and students to our RIG. Be sure to “sign-up” by logging in to the Members-Only section and choose which RIG(s) to join. There is no fee to participate and you can join up to three RIGs as part of your membership benefits. Just “click” on the topic and the Resource Center will do the rest!

Our recent activities include establishment of a rising investigator award.

We had an interesting RIG meeting at the annual conference. Some of the topics discussed included 1) having a RIG-sponsored symposium in the future, 2) establishing research recognition awards, 3) sponsoring a special issue of SOJNR. Work continues on the PMHN RIG rising investigator award, so stay tuned!

We look forward to continuing our efforts to promote research in Psychiatric-Mental Health and to facilitate networking with Psychiatric-Mental Health RIG members.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
