Mentoring is a powerful development tool that can help you achieve your personal and professional goals.

In a mentoring relationship, you will have an opportunity to discuss, receive honest and constructive feed-back and get access to the information, knowledge and experience from a more experienced person.

Serving as a mentor will provide an opportunity for you to develop the next generation of nurse scientist and researchers.

“Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximize their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be.”

– Eric Parsloe, The Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring

About the SNRS Mentorship Program
The SNRS mentorship program is for the purpose of providing support and guidance to PhD nursing students, junior faculty and new Nurse Scientists. Mentors will advise the mentees on professional development appropriate to their level, career development opportunities, career transition from pre-doc to 1st position, critical thinking, strategies for navigating the PhD student journey, etc. PhD student mentees will have their institution advisor, therefore, there will be no expectation for mentors to provide feedback on scholarly products, such as dissertations, abstracts, etc.
