We are pleased to present the special issue of SOJNR that focuses on qualitative research. We received many inquiries and many excellent papers. The ones published here report the results of research studies conducted with a variety of qualitative methods and also address interesting methodological issues. Dr. Elaine Marshall, of Georgia Southern University was a superb guest editor who guided potential authors, reviewed all of the manuscripts, and was a wonderful partner as we worked to make this issue a reality. Elsewhere in this issue there is a call for manuscripts for future themed issues. If you are thinking of writing a paper reporting your work in one of these areas, or addressing methodological issues in conducting research on one of these topics, we’d love to receive your paper for review. I am happy to talk with authors about possible ideas and to work with novice authors as they report the results of their research. We also are interested in receiving articles on topics in addition to those that are areas of focus. Each issue of the Journal, with the exception of the issue that publishes the abstracts of the Annual Meeting, has room for as many articles as are publishable. One of the beauties of electronic publication is that we have no page budget. This means that any paper accepted for publication will be published in the very next issue. SOJNR is indexed in CINAHL so your work will be available to those searching the literature. As I begin my second year as your editor, I want to thank everyone – authors, reviewers, guest editors, and production staff – who have worked so hard to produce a quality product. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you at the Annual Meeting and to receiving your suggestions to make the Journal even better.
