Message from the Editor

We are pleased to present the abstracts from the 2007 SNRS conference. Since SOJNR is indexed in CINAHL, this means that these abstracts will become a part of the indexed nursing literature and thus will be available to the entire scientific community. Author information included is the information submitted at the time of abstract submission, which was 2006. In our mobile society, several of the authors have changed employers, and many have new titles and credentials. One of the advantages of electronic publishing is the ability to update our publication. While we will be pleased to change author names, titles, and places of employment, we are unable to make any corrections in the abstracts themselves other than to correct typographical errors.

Look for the 2008 abstracts later this year. Starting with the 2009 conference, the Journal will publish the issue containing the conference abstracts shortly following the annual meeting.

The Journal is receiving an increasing number of manuscripts for review. Accepted papers will be published in all issues of the Journal with the exception of the issues devoted to Conference Abstracts. Reviewers are needed to participate in the peer-review process for all manuscripts: those submitted by the RIGs for special topics, and those submitted directly by authors. A Call for Reviewers appears in this issue. Please volunteer to help with this process. If you have been a reviewer in the past, I would appreciate your completing the Reviewer Profile and sending along an electronic copy of your CV.

Southern Nursing Research Society would like to acknowledge Meagan Hubbard and Kaci Melhorn, BSN students at the University of Arkansas, Eleanor Mann School of Nursing for their time and effort editing and formatting the conference abstracts for SOJNR. We also want to acknowledge the work of Amanda Pocsik for her help in posting the abstracts to the electronic journal.
